Hung out with some extended family a few weekends ago, and my awesome aunt Fran (who will forever be 17 years old) and I talked about when she lived in Seattle in the 90s, and how she was a part of the music scene there when grunge and riot grrl exploded. THe first three bands are early 90s recommendations. Patti & The Runaways were mentioned in passing… just have to remember to downloads some of these soon!

So psyched about this I can’t even explain. I was at Barnes & Noble the other night with my dad, and we noticed that all the songs being played were Dylan covers. “Oh yeah,” I said to my dad (the hugest Dylan fan in the history of history) “I think I remember seeing the CD at Starbucks.” He kept naming the songs, and we tried to figure out the artists. As we were leaving, we heard an amazing rendition of “Don’t Think Twice It’s Alright” by a female singer with a rocky-folk vibe. 

TO MY CHAGRIN IT WAS KE$HA HOW ON EARTH IS SHE SO AMAZING AND YET SO DISGUSTING.
